It Started With a Rescue Named Charlie
In 2011, our founder Emma brought home a severely matted, underweight terrier mix from a shelter in rural New South Wales. Charlie had clearly been neglected, and the local groomers weren't equipped to handle his anxiety and fear of being touched.
That experience sparked a realisation: there had to be a better way. A way to care for animals that acknowledged their emotional needs alongside their physical ones. A place where every pet, regardless of their history or temperament, could feel safe and understood.
Emma spent the next three years studying animal behaviour, training under experienced veterinary nurses, and learning grooming techniques from masters in the field. In 2014, twinkle-slip opened its doors in a small studio in Surry Hills.
Today, we've grown into a full-service facility serving thousands of families across greater Sydney. But our philosophy hasn't changed: every animal deserves patience, understanding, and genuine care from people who've dedicated their lives to animal welfare.
